3-4? y.o. Spayed Female
Sheeba came to us from the Appomatox County pound, where she was an owner surrender -- with no reason given. She's in foster care for the holidays -- to free up space at the Family Dog Club. Sheeba is spayed, heartworm negative, up to date on shots and microchipped.
Sheeba knows she was dumped. She took several days in her foster home before she began to play with her foster sisters and brother, and to approach her foster mom for some TLC. Now that she has been in foster care a few weeks, she is very affectionate with her foster mom. She doesn't like to be left behind and will cry for about 5 minutes when left home... but is not destructive, and is left loose in the home. When her foster mom checked on how long the stress lasted after she left the home, and sneaked back to peek through the front window -- Sheeba was already chilling on the couch - and had calmed down.
As you can see from the photos above, Sheeba has lost quite a bit of weight since joining BTTR in September. She only has a little way to go before she'll be a perfect size. She has a barrel shaped chest and is really not fat anymore, just a LITTLE chubby.
Sheeba is reliably house-trained, and not at all destructive when left alone in the house. She uses the doggy door to go out.
Sheeba's paperwork from the owner surrender said she was two years old. We are guessing that she is closer to 3 or 4. Sheeba is quiet and well behaved. She is being overlooked because of her weight (which she is steadily losing) and the fact that she's quiet and reserved till she gets to know you better.
Could you provide Sheeba with a more long-term foster care placement while she looks for her forever home?
Better yet, could you make a place for a calm and quiet beagle girl?
